Images Title
This is a BINGATA-dyed costume for boys. The patterns of plants in four seasons including cherry blossoms, maple leaves, plum blossoms, and turtles are expressed over MATSUKAWABISHITSUNAGI (lozenge-shaped chains) formed by ISHIDATAMIMON (stone pavement patterns), which are the alternate arrangement of 2 different colors of squares. A technique called "SHIROJI (white background) GATA" was used to dye this costume. It is the technique to dye patterns only and leaving the background as white. The whiteness of the material and the brightness of patterns stand out in the costume.
