This silver cup rinsing bowl is one of a sake set named NUUMEUSURII, and it was used along with a gold cup, pair of silver bowls with stands, and silver octagonal goblets at banquets that took place at a castle. 4 Chinese phoenixes were inscribed around peony on the lid, and peony and chrysanthemum patterns were carved on the body of the cup.
